The small salt lamp which may look petite but weighs 3 kilograms fits a larger room that has up to 18 sq. meters. Larger lamps are suggested for bigger spaces for it better emits negative ions. These larger lamps are as heavy as 17 kilos.
You can place the salt lamps in bedrooms and even in kids’ rooms. It looks good in the living room and very useful in rooms that smell such as smoking rooms. For better concentration, have one on your work space or home office. It can also be placed in meditation and spa rooms.
Ganigan warns us about purchasing fake salt lamps. A way to determine if a salt lamp is authentic is by taste. Salt lamps are edible for they are still salt, and if the lamp tastes salty, then it only means one thing— it is real. Also, authentic Himalayan salt lamps are not perfect in texture. Since they are mined irons that were stuck in sea water, the lamp would have fissures. Legitimate salts come in white bluish and pink colors. The pink color is caused by the abundance of 84 trace minerals such as potassium, magnesium and calcium.
